Let them choose the embellishments, and let them choose stamps that reflect their teacher’s interest. But also let them be part of the design—have them sign their name, even if they are still learning, and if they’re old enough, fill out the inside of the card with their message of gratitude. (The teacher will love seeing the student’s progress!). Let them color in a stamp, even if they color outside the lines. Allow them to include meaningful treasures, like stickers they’ve saved (even if they don’t go with the card’s theme) or leaves they found on a walk that they want to glue to the card.
