Il existe de nombreuses idées créatives qui permettront à vos cartes faites à la main d’atteindre un niveau supérieur et de paraître bien pensées, soignées et – osons le dire – professionnelles ! Estampillage

Le stamping peut être aussi simple ou aussi complexe que vous le souhaitez, et c’est ce que nous aimons ! Il s’agit d’une technique vraiment polyvalente qui permet de créer aussi bien un simple message de bienvenue tamponné sur du papier ordinaire que plusieurs tampons superposés avec plusieurs couleurs et motifs.

Pour ce faire, les jeux de timbres spécialement conçus à cet effet vous aideront à aligner les couches. Mais si vous n’avez pas ce genre de set de tampons, une astuce géniale s’impose ? Utilisez le même papier cartonné et la même couleur d’encre pour obtenir un effet ton sur ton.

Gaufrage

L’embossage|gaufrage à chaleur est une version plus avancée du Tampons. Elle nécessite un type d’encre spécial et plus collant appelé VersaMark®, sur lequel vous versez ensuite de la poudre à embosser avant de la chauffer avec précaution pour la faire fondre et durcir en une image dimensionnelle. Le gaufrage est également une excellente idée pour ajouter une touche métallique à votre dessin ou pour faire en sorte qu’une image que vous souhaitez voir apparaître en blanc ressorte sur un papier de couleur plus foncée.

Vous pouvez également utiliser notre pâte à embosser pour ajouter de la dimension à votre projet. Pour le projet ci-dessous, nous avons utilisé la pâte scintillante, un masque découpé à l’emporte-pièce et un couteau à palette pour créer ce motif sur le cardstock. Embellissements

L’ajout d’embellissements lors de la fabrication de vos propres cartes est un autre aspect du processus qui donne à la personnalisation une toute autre dimension. Cette accessoirisation est, comme nous l’avons déjà mentionné, un peu comme si vous mettiez des paillettes sur votre gâteau ! Par exemple, là où une personne met des bijoux, vous pouvez mettre des fleurs coupées. Là où l’un préfère un ruban audacieux noué dans un nœud, l’autre préfère un nœud lâche de ficelle de boulanger. Peut-être qu’au lieu de suggérer des documents éphémères, vous aimeriez placer une série de brads. À ce stade, nous vous conseillons de jouer sur plusieurs tableaux jusqu’à ce que vous trouviez une combinaison de “sprinkles” que vous aimez vraiment et que vous pensez que le destinataire de votre carte aimera aussi.

How to Choose Colors for Your DIY Cards

A quick study of color theory helps us understand that, as humans, we react to different colors in different ways—they actually induce a variety of emotions when we see them on their own (think of reds speaking in terms of passion and power, where blue brings a sense of peace and calm). 

Colors can also appear different when they interact with one another. Artists and scientists alike have discovered that when we bring colors together in certain ways, they feel harmonious and just plain right. For instance, monochromatic colors are simply various shades and tints of one color. These combinations can feel understated and chic. 

Analogous colors are three (or occasionally more) colors found right together on the color wheel. Even in bright shades, they can feel reassuring and bring balance to your designs. Complementary colors are found directly across the wheel from one another and often feel like opposites, like yin and yang. They enhance each other, possibly because of their differences! 

Then there are triadic colors, which can be found in triangular patterns around the color wheel. These are easy to spot if you begin with the primary colors of red, yellow, and blue, and then rotate around the circle to find new and unexpected color combinations.
