DIY-kaarten: Creatieve ideeën en trends

Er zijn genoeg creatieve ideeën om je handgemaakte kaarten naar een hoger niveau te tillen en ze er goed doordacht, gepolijst en – laten we zeggen – professioneel uit te laten zien! Stempelen

Stempelen kan zo eenvoudig of complex zijn als je zelf wilt, en daar houden we van! Het is echt een veelzijdige techniek waarmee je van alles kunt maken, van een basisgroet gestempeld op gewoon papier tot meerdere stempels gelaagd met verschillende kleuren en patronen.

Stempelsets die speciaal voor dit doel ontworpen zijn, zorgen voor goed uitgelijnde lagen. Maar één goede tip als je niet zo’n stempelset hebt? Gebruik hetzelfde kaartkarton en dezelfde inktkleur voor een ton-sur-ton look.

Embossing

Hitte-embossen is een meer geavanceerde versie van stempelen. Hiervoor is een speciaal en kleveriger type inkt nodig, VersaMark® genaamd, waar je vervolgens embossingpoeder overheen giet voordat je het voorzichtig verwarmt om te smelten en uit te harden tot een dimensionale afbeelding. Pregen is ook een geweldig idee om metallic flair aan je ontwerp toe te voegen of om ervoor te zorgen dat een afbeelding die je in het wit wilt laten uitkomen, afsteekt tegen een donkerder gekleurd papier.

Je kunt ook onze embossingpasta gebruiken om dimensie toe te voegen aan je project. Voor het project hieronder gebruikten we de glanspasta, een stansmasker en een paletmes om dit patroon over het kaartkarton te maken. Versieringen

Het toevoegen van decoratie bij het maken van je eigen kaarten is een ander deel van het proces dat personalisatie naar een heel nieuw niveau tilt. Deze accessoires zijn, zoals we al eerder hebben gezegd, net als hagelslag op je taart! Waar de een bijvoorbeeld juwelen neerlegt, kun jij bloemknipsels neerleggen. Waar de een de voorkeur geeft aan een gedurfd lint met een strik eromheen, geeft de ander de voorkeur aan een losse knoop van Bakkerstouw. Misschien wil je in plaats van gesuggereerde efemerea een reeks sierklemmetjes plaatsen. We raden je aan om in dit stadium veel te spelen totdat je een combinatie van “hagelslag” hebt gevonden die je echt leuk vindt – en waarvan je denkt dat de ontvanger van je kaart die ook zal vinden.

How to Choose Colors for Your DIY Cards

A quick study of color theory helps us understand that, as humans, we react to different colors in different ways—they actually induce a variety of emotions when we see them on their own (think of reds speaking in terms of passion and power, where blue brings a sense of peace and calm). 

Colors can also appear different when they interact with one another. Artists and scientists alike have discovered that when we bring colors together in certain ways, they feel harmonious and just plain right. For instance, monochromatic colors are simply various shades and tints of one color. These combinations can feel understated and chic. 

Analogous colors are three (or occasionally more) colors found right together on the color wheel. Even in bright shades, they can feel reassuring and bring balance to your designs. Complementary colors are found directly across the wheel from one another and often feel like opposites, like yin and yang. They enhance each other, possibly because of their differences! 

Then there are triadic colors, which can be found in triangular patterns around the color wheel. These are easy to spot if you begin with the primary colors of red, yellow, and blue, and then rotate around the circle to find new and unexpected color combinations.
