There’s something about gathering around a Thanksgiving table. We pass delicious dishes, retell familiar stories, and can always squeeze in one more chair. But part of what makes the occasion special happens before anyone sits down: choosing what to serve, setting each place, and adding the small touches that make everyone feel welcome.

Thanksgiving crafts can be part of those preparations. Make a place card for each guest, add pumpkin accents to the table, or save a little time for everyone to write down what they’re thankful for.

Here are three projects to get you started.

1. Set a Welcoming Table with Handmade Leaf Place Cards

A place card may be a small part of the table, but it’s one way to let each guest know you’re glad they’re there. Make it even more personal by adding a brief note on the back sharing something you appreciate about them.

Give your place cards an autumn-inspired shape with a handmade leaf. The Elegant Leaves Bundle pairs coordinating stamps and dies to create natural-looking leaves with plenty of texture. Choose cardstock and ink colors that work with the rest of your table, then make one for each guest.

How to Make Leaf Place Cards

1. Stamp and cut the leaves. Stamp one leaf for each guest onto cardstock. Cut out each leaf with the coordinating die. Try a mix of fall colors to tie the place cards together while giving each one its own look.

2. Make it theirs. Write each guest’s name on the front of the card, leaving some of the stamped design visible.

3. Add something personal. On the back, write something you appreciate about each guest.

4. Set each place. Rest the finished card beside a napkin, lean it against the place setting, or tie it around a rolled napkin with ribbon or twine.

2. Dress the Table with Handmade Pumpkin Accents

Once everyone has a place at the table, turn your attention to the rest of the setting. Add pumpkins beside the place settings or scatter them around the table to bring the tablescape together.

The Painted Pumpkins Bundle includes stamps, dies, and decorative masks to create pumpkins in varied sizes, plus coordinating leaves and vines. Choose shades that complement the rest of your table or try deeper fall tones for Thanksgiving.

How to Make Pumpkin Accents

1. Create a mix of pumpkins. Stamp several pumpkins onto assorted colors of cardstock in various sizes.

2. Add the leaves and vines. Stamp a few leaves and vines, then use the dies to cut out all your pieces.

3. Build the groupings. Combine pumpkins, leaves, and vines in different arrangements until you find combinations you like.

4. Arrange them on the table. Scatter the finished pumpkins throughout the tablescape, filling in open spaces and leaving room for plates and serving dishes.

3. Make Gratitude Tags Together

As you set the table, leave a little room for a craft you can make with your guests. Thanksgiving has a way of getting us talking about what we’re grateful for, but sometimes it’s easier to find the words when we have a moment to think. Gratitude tags give everyone a chance to slow down, remember what mattered this year, and share some memories with the people around the table.

Make the tags ahead of time with the Advent Labels Punch, then, as you set the table, put out the Thanks & Giving Stamp Set, ink pads, and pencils or markers. With gratitude sentiments, fall accents, and room to write, everyone can decide what they want to add.

How to Make Thanksgiving Gratitude Tags

1. Give everyone a starting point. Punch a tag or two from cardstock for each person and have them ready for your gathering.

2. Start creating together. Set out the Thanks & Giving stamps, ink pads, and pencils or markers, then let everyone decorate their tag however they’d like.

3. Add what matters. Stamp a gratitude sentiment or fall accent, then write a few words of your own. It could be something you’re thankful for, a memory from the year, or a note for someone at the table.

Tip: Make a few extra gratitude tags to display. Punch a hole in each, add twine, and hang them near the table as reminders of what you’re grateful for.
